Multifractal Discrimination Model of High-Frequency Pupil-diameter Measurements
نویسندگان
چکیده
Multifractality present in high frequency pupil diameter measurements, usually connected with irregular scaling behavior and self-similarity, is modelled with statistical accuracy. A multifractal spectrum is used to discriminate pupil behavior measurements from four groups differing in ocular pathology. Broadness and the spectrum maximum, two measures characterizing the multifractal spectrum of observations, are proposed as the distinguishing features among the groups. Analysis based on descriptive statistics and kernel density estimation is provided to obtain the statistical description of the inherited mulitfractality. Model-free classification, together with the model combining technique, is adapted to build a reasonable classifier.

Classification of High Frequency Pupillary Responses using Schur Monotone Descriptors in Multiscale Domains
This paper addresses the problem of classifying users with different visual abilities based on their pupillary response data while performing computer-based tasks. Multiscale Schur Monotone (MSM) summaries of high frequency pupil diameter measurements are utilized as feature vectors (or input vectors) in this classification. Various MSM measures, such as Shannon, Picard, and Emlen entropies, th...
متن کاملEffects of latanoprost and pilocarpine combination on the intraocular pressure and pupil size of normal rabbits
The aim of this study was to determine the combination effect of latanoprost and pilocarpine on theintraocular pressure and pupil size in normal rabbits. In this study, 18 rabbits were randomized to threegroups of 6 animals each. The right eyes of rabbits in group 1 were treated topically with latanoprost, ingroup 2 with pilocarpine and in group 3 with latanoprost and pilocarpine. The left eyes...
متن کاملMonochromatic modulation transfer function of the human eye for different pupil diameters: an analytical expression.
The modulation transfer function (MTF) of human eyes for different pupil sizes was measured in a group of normal young subjects by use of a double-pass method. Measurements were carried out in the fovea, with monochromatic red light, paralyzed accommodation, artificial pupils, and optimum spherical refraction in each subject. For each pupil size both the averaged MTF and the intersubject variab...
متن کاملApplication of multifractal modeling for separation of sulfidic mineralized zones based on induced polarization and resistivity data in the Ghare-Tappeh Cu deposit, NW Iran
The aim of this study was to identify various sulfidic mineralized zones in the Ghare-Tappeh Cu deposit (NW Iran) based on geo-electrical data including induced polarization (IP) and resistivity (RS) using the concentration-volume (C-V) and number-size (N-S) fractal models. The fractal models were used to separate high and moderate sulfidic zones from low sulfidic zones and barren wall rocks. B...
